Why Worry?

Being ignorant of the fact that worry changes nothing, I used to sit down for hours even in the middle of the night to think and think and worry and cry about the situations around my life. Actually, I wasn't the only one in that shoe, there are even still a lot of people in this shoe that I've thrown into a bottomless pit.

What is the meaning of the word "worry"?
Painting the word in my own way, Worry is an act of suffocating oneself with needless thoughts. It is trying to manipulate your thoughts around a critical situation that is definitely unchangeable for man.

Worry is a supresser of morale, a second of worry, a cubit of morale crushed.

According to the scripture, Worry is an act of being faithless. It is the end-product of faithlessness or lack of faith in God's word.

Simply, it is underrating (the power of the word of) God. Because, God commanded us in the scripture that, we should not worry about anything.

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?(Mat 6:25).

If it can do no thing, if can not solve the problem, why do men worry?
First, the real worriers worry because they are somewhat unaware of the fact that they are worrying. How do I mean? I mean that, worry comes/creeps into the minds of men gently and unconsciously through random (normal) thoughts.

Does it mean we should suspend our brains and think about nothing throughout our lives? No. What I'm saying does not imply that we should suspend our brains. I am only saying that, overthinking about anything amounts to worry.

The King James Version of the above verse reads "...Take no thought for your life..." Worry creeps in when you're trying to take a thought about your life's difficult situations.

Second, a lot of people who worry do not believe in the power of God. In the real sense, there are situations around our lives that make us feel hope and faith are no longer the doses to take but then is worry the right dose, even if a man soaks himself deeply into it? It can do nothing more than to drain you off.

Believing in God deals with consistency. The more you believe Him, the closer you move to Him, the closer you move to him, the stronger you believe Him.

But if you run to Him only in times of need, it might be hard for you to believe in Him especially when it feels your answer is delayed, you might want to consider worrying which is so fruitless.

Third, people worry under devil's attack. It is wise for us children of God to understand this truth that one of the major tools devil use to deprive us of our blessings and victory is worry.

When devil sees that your victory is near, He inflicts you with worry and once you start to worry,it displeases God. Why? It is just as if you are mocking His awesome power.

Since worry is a waste of time, what then shall we do in the time of distress?

The life journey of man is not always smooth. It is full of ups and downs. The preacher wrote in the book of Ecclesiastes that under the heavens, life is in phases, but when life reaches those phases of lose, sickness, disease, sorrow, death, hatred, breakdown and so on, what shall we do? Because knowing the right thing to do is far different from doing it as soon as possible. In this case, what you should do is three in one. Yes. Because they are synchronized.

The first thing to do is, shake off faithlessness and build a strong faith in God. How can this happen? Faith comes through hearing the word of God (not only from people, but from your heart as you read and study it).

A constant study and declaration of God's words builds up faith. And one thing faith in God and His promises does for you is that, it makes the river of joy flow in you. Faith replaces worry with joy. And in the midst of whatever, you are joyous.

Another thing to do is, stop trying to care for yourself, but submit to the ultimate one who created you. As it is written in God's word, Casting the whole of your care, all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully (1peter 5: 7).

Casting all your whole care on God makes your yoke light, because all is taken to whom can bear them. Now tell me, how can you cast your care on who you do not believe in? No way, you must have a strong faith that He can take care of you before you can submit to Him.

The last thing is prayer. When your faith is strong and you are ready to let God care for you, the next thing is pray. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God (Philippians 4:6).

Instead of wasting your precious time to worry, why not pray with faith and submission.

It is so expedient that you know who you are. To introduce means to cause someone to be acquainted with another person. It can also mean to make a person come to the full knowledge of who someone is. The first thing I want You to know (acquaint with) about YOU is that YOU are a be-ing - a work in progress. Imagine you were born as huge as you are right now. It is even unimaginable. You were born as a baby and here you are, fully grown. Isn't that amazing? God created you with the potential to evolve -without any limitation. The suffix "-ing" in English Language denotes an action in progress. It is also used to form uncountable(unlimited) nouns.  The word, "human being" connotes "unlimited human" - a human without limitations. No matter how grown, prosperous, learned, wise, knowl...
