PLACE YOUR IDENTITY RIGHT

What They Say and What You Think Is Not Who You Are
There is a kind of connectivity between what we hear and what we think. What we hear people say has ascendancy on our thinking.
How?
The brain of man is like a tape recorder which records everything you allow it to percieve (you have the ability to control whatever you hear and those words that sink into your brain) and when recorded, it plays it to your mind whenever you are alone and you begin to think about it.
However, in searching for Identity, a lot of people have concluded in their minds that what people say about them or call them is who they are, whereas it is a very wrong notion. One thing is, it is easy for a natural man to tend and believe the voice of man than that of God and the secret is, no man on earth, not even you can define yourself. Therefore, whatsoever (negative thing) they say or you think about yourself is not who you are.
People can call you bastard, fool, pauper, failure, ugly, arrogant, they can call you anything even good names, they can say, Oh! She's the best, wise, perfect, beautiful one. Behold, all of that might be what they see in you, but it is not YOU, because the YOU in you can not be seen by man and with physical eyes, in other words, who you are is greater than what they can see in you, so what can not be seen can not be properly described and defined.
You can think of yourself as being stupid, vulnerable, foolish, stubborn, arrogant, whatever! Wise, good, intelligent, talented. Yes, all of that might be what you think and see in you, but it is not the YOU! Man can not properly define himself, unless God does.
There was a man named Jabez in the Bible. The meaning of the name Jabez in Hebrew is "he makes sorrowful"; his mother said "I gave birth to him in pain". Jabez was labelled with "sorrow" at birth, because his mother was not happy when he gave birth to him. Therefore, everyone called him Jabez "a sorrowful Child" to an extent that the name they called him affected his mentality and the way he lived, he became poor and sorrowful ( Whatever you think of yourself is what you become). Jabez allowed what he heard people say about him to influence his thought pattern and his life became sorrowful until one day! One day, Jabez jacked up from his slumber and prayed for God to give and show him his Identity, after that his prayers was answered, God showed him who he was, He was "Richer than his brethren". Meaning, the real identity of Jabez is, "The Rich One" which did not change since he had been given birth to, but he was unconscious of his identity because of what they called him and what he thought about himself. Thank God for the revelation and Victory he had at the end. (1 Chronicles 4:9-10).
Like Jabez, a lot of people are suffering these days because of their conclusion that their Identity is what people say and what they think about themselves which is not true. YOU ARE WHO YOU ARE. Either you know it or not, the YOU is not changing, but the earlier the better for you to discover your Identity so as to be free from Identity Crises.

THE MIRROR: IDENTITY AND SELFHOOD

Identity. It’s the essence of who you are—your personality, the core of your being. Selfhood, on the other hand, is the expression of that identity, the way you present yourself to the world. Think back to a time when you had to show your identity card. Do you remember the reaction of the person you handed it to? Likely, they nodded in approval, having seen all the necessary information about you on that card. Your identity, in that moment, was defined by the details captured on that small piece of plastic. But identity is more than just what's written on a card. It’s how you define yourself and how others perceive you. It’s the name you give yourself, the image you project, and the way people recognize you. Selfhood is often conveyed through three key aspects: - Dressing (Your Appearance) - Actions (What You Do and How You Do It) - Speech (The Words You Speak and How You Utter Them)  Dressing (Your Appearance) There’s a common saying: "Appearance shows the manner." Where...

The Greatest Goal

When the ball enters the net, they say it's a goal! And the loosing team feel defeated forgetting that they've got the greatest goal.  Same to a man who has all his goals lain down and strategically pulling his efforts towards the goal but to realize at the end that, his goals can't be achieved, for known or unknown reasons. He looses strength. At times, he can feel like it's over. But the truth remains that it's not over until it is over. He's got the greatest goal.       Really, a goal is the achievement toward which effort is directed. And billions are the "I want to", "by God's grace I will", "in fact, I must" in the speeches of every man, especially at the beginning of every matter, but strength wanes and the story changes maybe in the middle of the road. Because all efforts put towards the achievement of the goals seem to be less affective. The truth is, no man has control over whatever happens and will happen....
