Intentionality in Self-Growth The desire of every parents is to see their children grow up, even to their full statures at the appropriate time. Meaning, there is always a required time for growth. A normal child for instance is expected to grow to the level of walking by himself within the range of ten to eighteen months of his life, if such child does not walk within the range of the time expected, fear sets in, in his parents, not only that, they and the people around them will not be happy about the child's condition. In that case, it might be that the child is not fed appreciatly (that is, if the child is not well fed, it can affect his growth) or there is a defect in the Child's brain. Growth is an increase in size, amount and VALUE. There is always a need to grow, not only up but also wide in every areas and facets of life. Just like learning, when you stop to grow you are ready to die.  Templates of Growth   #1 Growth is as essential to man as the breath he breathes, so when he stops to grow he is ready to die. #2 Growth is timely- when a man does not grow as expected and in the appropriate time, it is called a stunted growth. #3 Growing into Maturity in other senses is difficult than growing into maturity Biologically #4 There should always be an iota of intentionality in growth. #5 If you must grow, you must learn.

    Human beings in life as we involve daily in various activities, alongside, we make mistakes, we fail and fall into errors. This natural events cause some people to be reluctant to move on in the journey of life because they are afraid to make more mistakes and fall into errors. Being conscious of who you are is simply walking and living in the reality of who God has made you to be. God created man with authority and called him god on earth and his son. I mean every one on earth is named with this great Identity. Where Can Man Locate His Identity?     Men and women on the cue in front of the mirror of this world to see how they look; they have depended so much on what they see in the mirror of the world that it is who they are. Little did they know that there is a place to find their true Identity. The place to find your true Identity is in God.     In the beginning when God created the heaven and the earth and created man in His image to be the ruler of the earth, it was a big slap on the devil because he thought all the authority on earth should belong to him since he had been sent down as a result of his pride to the God of heaven.      After that devil was sent down from the glorious city, heaven, all his efforts were to take away the authority and rulership of the earth from man, therefore he placed sin before the first man and woman, and they fell (Genesis 3). What They Say and What You Think Is Not Who You Are     There is a kind of connectivity between what we hear and what we think. What we hear people say has ascendancy on our thinking.  How?       The brain of man is like a tape recorder which records everything you allow it to percieve (you have the ability to control whatever you hear and those words that sink into your brain) and when recorded, it plays it to your mind whenever you are alone and you begin to think about it.      However, in searching for Identity, a lot of people have concluded in their minds that what people say about them or call them is who they are, whereas it is a very wrong notion. One thing is, it is easy for a natural man to tend and believe the voice of man than that of God and the secret is, no man on earth, not even you can define yourself.  The horror of failures and mistakes is not in them but in believing that your Identity is tied to them. The reason why it is difficult for some people to rise from the pit of failure is that, they have accepted it to be who they are so they stay there.     Failure is the experience of not meeting expectations in one's endeavors. Self-Security and Self-Insecurity     Self security simply put is a "moderate self-esteem". A sense of freedom to be you, that is, the ability to sustain who you are irrespective of your vulnerability (meekness). While Self-Insecurity is feeling unsafe to loose one's position. Insecurity in onself is a fight for ego and self-image. It is being not sure of oneself. The source of humility is wisdom and humility increases a man's wisdom. How?    The word of God let us know that Jesus Christ is the wisdom and power of God, He is the wisdom and source of all wisdom.    Fine! The opinion of many is that Meekness is synonymous to Humility, this might be true but in a frank word, Meekness has a deeper meaning.    Meekness is the highest state of Humility. It is Humility shown in all. Humility shown in words, appearance, speech, dressing, behaviours, relationships and in the presence of God.      When Jesus was enlightening people about the Principles of the kingdom on the mount, He said "Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth." One of the things that substantiate /authenticate greatness is Favour! The favour of God and of Man. Any man who makes it in life does not only make it by hardwork, but also by favour. Humility is an of revering-Oneself, God, and Others. Holy Spirit is the third person in Trinity, He is the spirit of God dwelling in and with us in this New Testament Era.     The only thing after Holiness that attracts this Spirit of God is Humility. A humble heart, a heart that submits reverently in obedience.     Holy Spirit is a teacher, a guide and an instructor. The Joy of a teacher, instructor and guide is to find the one is ready to learn and submit. Also, it is the desire of the Holy Spirit to lead the humble one. If a man turns out to be proud, arrogant and disobedient, the Holy Spirit departs such.    Therefore, if a man will enjoy to the fullest the presence of the Holy Spirit as purposed by God, He must be humble.  Psalms 38vs6 "For though the Lord is high, yet has He respect to the lowly [bringing them into fellowship with Him]; but the proud and haughty He knows and recognizes [only] at a distance."

Humility is an act of being tender and soft towards others. It is an act of being humble in heart. An humble person bends easily without argument or being arrogant. One of the signs of Humility is that it submits. An humble person submits to elders and leaders for learning and corrections.    One of the difficult things for a proud man is yielding to corrections, but a man with humility bends softly to learn.     Jesus Christ the son of God who came to the world to die for us sinners is the perfect example of Humility. Jesus Christ being the greatest teacher, He knows more than anyone on earth for He is the son of God, the second person in Trinity. When we talk about humility, some people think it is all about bowing down and kneeling to greet everyone, it is totally out of it.    Humility is a thing of the heart, humility is an act of giving honour to yourself and spreading it to others around you. Pride Has No Sense Of Reverence For Anybody One of the symptoms of pride is that, the carrier of pride will have no sense of reverence or respect, no matter how little for anybody both young and old. The most dangerous bad attitude in life is Pride. How Do You Know It Is Pride?  Pride is an act of exalting oneself above others.     One major thing you will see in the life of a proud man is that he will always paint himself as the  ONLY good above others. Actually, it is a good thing to speak good of yourself as a way to build your self-esteem and confidence, but it is not the same as doing that to expose the weaknesses of your counterparts.     Where many people miss it is, they think speaking about themselves as the almighty attracts favour to them, meanwhile it does not.
