Balance after Blow (BAB)

I got into a physical argument with someone, sometime ago and the next I would see was a glare darkness! She hit me on the face, and everything went blank and dark, it was almost like my eyes were plucked out of my kinky head. Chai! It wasn't a great day for me that day, I couldn't get my clear sight and balance until a few hours after the incidence. Stories like that are better told than experienced. Howbeit, life throws us blows on every side and at every time. When one is hit by the blow of this life, the experience is not always like honey to the taste bud. The experience is best as not palatable. Blows from life are the challenges we encounter at every stage of our lives. Challenges are inevitable in life and so it is a must for us to get out of it to get our goals. Challenges most of the times are not traceable to our faults or weaknesses, things just happen. Finding your balance after blow is parallel to the importance of your existence. You can't shut down your ...

INTERCOURSE

Children are a product of intercourse and so, are the rich and the poor, in wisdom and in wealth. What is Intercourse? Mariam Webster English Dictionary defines Intercourse as the "exchange, especially of thoughts or feelings". The word intercourse originated from the Latin word intercurrere meaning "to run between, intervene, mediate".  Running through the years of its specific usage; Intercourse in the 1540s referred to "frequent and habitual meeting and contact, social communication between persons". In the 1560s, it referred to "mental or spiritual exchange or intercommunication". In 1798, the word was interpreted as "sexual relations"- which is the most common usage of the word. The usage of intercourse revolves mostly around communication than in other contexts. In my own words, I will define Intercourse as "a mingling of ideas at various levels of communication".  That is, ideas are mingled through the p...

It Is Time To Let Go

It is pertinent to understand that, no human can survive without interacting with other human beings. Here, many people think their survival is hinged on the relationship with a particular person or set of people, which is not supposed to be so. The kind of interaction we are talking about is not an attachment with a particular person. Truly in our societies, we find ourselves in social gatherings, and there we mingle with people, we meet and get along with friends. We meet friends, we relate with people on an interpersonal level, we talk about life, we share love, and become intimate during the process. During that process we realize that friendship is one of the best relationship in the society, even though, it is not every relationship that matters. We need to draw the line, every relationship can not benefit a man no matter how, unless such person does not have values that guide his life. Friendship as on of the relationships in the society that build people, makes one strong...

THE PROPOSAL

"Throw me the bouquet And I'll let it go Down through the hollow of my heart To the depth and I'll ride I'll ride on the rose to the orchard Where I shall eat the giving fruit The fruit shall flush the bloomings in my heart And my heart shall merry." The lines of words have turned  an every day rhythm in her mouth since the inception of the relationship. Being her friend and roommate since the days of Oniyo Grammar School, Edun-Oke, Temiloluwa would not hide anything from me about her relationship.  Temiloluwa was the first girl Jamal would approach gaining admission into the university and it was a lucky shoot for him. My friend's coat was always soaked with the rain of love. They were the picture of Romeo and Juliet, how do I mean? My friend would not stay half a second after any lecture in the department before you find her in Jamal's.  Their love story and lifestyle was as secretive as the sunshine by the day. You would not know them or hea...

Money is Freer Than Time

"Money is not free. Time is free. But, money is freer than time." To understand the meaning of this quote, let me help with a non-fiction story;  I used to know a lady who was a professional in the business (now called "hook up" but then) called "aristo". Aristo is not really the word, but prostitution which means moving with aristos. She was doing it to earn herself money. Yeah! Money, which is very important in maintaining a good standard of living. She had been doing the business before I knew her. I knew her in about eight years ago. She was one of the most classy ladies back then, in terms of material things and physical appearance. About eight years is passed. And now, a radiant, gorgeous, beautiful, sexy, and classy lady of eight years ago is now the grotesque. Her flabby boobs is a signal to prospective suitors. In the progression of time, she was earning money...Now, all ( body shape, boobs and glamour)she was using to get(buy) the mon...

Anger-A Two-sided Emotion

Emotions generally could be two-sided. Emotions in every human beings are blessings but could turn otherwise if not well understood, tamed and managed. Emotions are purposely deposited in us by God and understanding the purpose of every kind of emotions present in us as humans, guides us on how to properly exhibit and manage them. Because, "when the purpose of a thing is not defined, abuse is inevitable".  Anger is an "attributional emotion". It is an emotion that makes humans, humans. It is basically a feeling of displeasure with something (it should be) not someone. We humans inherit this "attributional emotion"-anger from our heavenly father, God. Anger is beautiful in the context of its purpose. It is fundamentally a displeasure with the wrong, with the intention to make it right. That is why anger is one of the qualities of a good leader.  Jesus as our perfect example in leadership will never condole anything tagged 'wrong', hence ...

The Best Way To Deal With Your Weaknesses

Lie to me that you do not have your own weaknesses, too. I tell you, every individual on the planet earth is an embodiment of strengths and weaknesses. Strengths in this context are positive and valuable attribute or qualities of a human being. Weaknesses on the other hand are not always negative but could be inadequate or defective qualities of a human being.  As humans and individuals, we tend to focus and pay more attention to our weaknesses more than we do our strengths, that is why it is more pronounced. Whereas, the strengths embedded in every individual double their weaknesses. There are various kinds of weaknesses; a man could have physical weaknesses which could be inborn or as a result of an accident/incidence, it could be habitual weaknesses like laziness, dirtiness and gluttony. We also have psychological, mental, emotional, medical and many more.  Irrespective of the various kinds of weaknesses in an individual, such individual is still full of strengt...
